Join us in July for ethical business networking at Genesis Orwell Mencap.

Genesis is a local charity that was started by parents for children with disabilities to offer services including daytime support services, support in the home and community, social enterprises, Domiciliary Services, supported living, and a social club in the evening.

Their main site at Wright Road is well-equipped to cater for people with a wide range of abilities including complex needs. The emphasis is on developing independence, providing stimulating activities, and work experience training.

Genesis also runs 2 social enterprises, the Green Bike project where they refurbish and sell second-hand bikes and Genesis garden furniture creating amazing quality furniture in their on-site workshop. All the work is carried out on-site by people with disabilities under the supervision of skilled adults. Both are worth a visit!

Do Good will be assisting them with making the garden a place where service users that are stimulated by sensory activities can enjoy the outside. This will include planting different flowers and greenery to provide visual stimulation and interesting textures to touch, as well as installing sensory equipment.
