Description
In April we were back with Genesis Orwell Mencap.
The morning started with a tour of the fantastic site which offers a wide range of services supporting adults and young people with learning or physical disabilities. They provide ad full programme of social activities from art, singing and dance to training. their emphasis is on developing independence, providing stimulating activities and work experience training.
Genesis runs 2 social enterprises, the Green Bike project where they refurbish and sell second-hand bikes and Genesis garden furniture creating amazing quality furniture in their on-site workshop. All the work is carried out on-site by people with disabilities under the supervision of skilled adults. Both are worth a visit!
We then started work cleaning all the windows inside and out of the main building, painting the fences, weeding and clearing up the car park and entrance area. It certainly was a busy morning.
